One Giant Win: Giants Beat the Chargers in Week 4

By Nikki Gist

Welcome to New York, Jaxson Dart. We’ve Been Waiting For You.

On Sunday, rookie Jaxson Dart made his debut at MetLife Stadium against the Los Angeles Chargers and for once, the place stayed full past halftime. Fans wanted to see if Dart could do the unthinkable: lead Big Blue to their first win of the season. And he did. But in true New York fashion, the win didn’t come without drama.

The celebration was muted by a devastating loss: rookie WR Malik Nabers is believed to have suffered a season-ending ACL tear. His MRI is scheduled for Monday, but Brian Daboll was already preaching “next man up.”

The offensive line still struggled, and red-zone woes continued thanks to playcalling that makes sense only to the Giants’ coaching staff. The defense, however, came to play — forcing turnovers, delivering 12 QB hits, two sacks, and breaking up six possessions. Dexter Lawrence even showed signs of life after three straight “milk carton” games, grabbing one of two interceptions on the day.

As for Dart? Flashes of greatness. He moved the ball when he could, despite shaky protection. Decision-making needs polish, but for a debut, you couldn’t ask for much more.

The Giants head to New Orleans next week to face the 0–4 Saints, who are desperate for a win.
