The Professional Women’s Hockey League hosted a sold-out game at Madison Square Garden with over 18,000 fans Sunday night. The New York Sirens beat the Seattle Torrent 2–1 in a shootout. The event set a US attendance record for a professional women’s hockey game. The iconic Billie Jean King was among a number of historic female athletes who took part in pregame ceremonies.
