April is Autism Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum. It’s also a moment to highlight organizations that are putting those values into action in meaningful, everyday ways. One of those organizations is Spectrum Designs, a Long Island-based nonprofit that combines custom apparel and branding services with a mission to create employment opportunities for autistic individuals. Known for producing work for major clients like Google, the company has built a model where purpose and business go hand in hand. Now, Spectrum Designs is expanding into New Jersey with a new location opening in Hackensack on May 1, where more than 70 percent of employees are on the autism spectrum. Joining us now is CEO and co-founder Patrick Bardsley.
