Red Bull New York II took on FC Cincinnati 2 Sunday afternoon at the Montclair State Soccer Park. 

New York came off a win 2-1 against New England Revolution II. FC Cincinnati 2 came off a 1-0 win against NYCFC II which was their first win of the season. 

In the 16th minute, forward Mijahir Jimenez kicked the ball right to midfielder Dennis Gjengaar who scored the goal. Jimenez recorded his third assist of the season during that play. A few minutes later Cheikhou Niang sped past his defender and scored from 18 yards out. Niang had now scored in back to back games. In the 49th minute, Gjengaar would record his second goal of the game as he struck it in the back of the net. New York was up 2-1 against FC Cincinnati. Andy Rojas would score in the 57th minute which made it a 3-1 lead. 

Red Bull New York II won 3-1 and are now 4-0-2-0 on the year. New York was very aggressive with 25 total shots and seven shots on goal. Defensively, it was a great performance as well with 10 blocked shots. New York facilitated the ball with an 89% passing accuracy and 592 total passes.

Midfielder Marco Morigi made his MLS debut along with Jason Bori who is a defender. Rojas scored his seventh goal in his career in MLS NEXT Pro. That was also his second goal of the season. Fall had his first MLS Next Pro assist. FC Cincinnati is now 1- 5 on the season. Niang has made an important impact on FC Cincinnati 2 ever since signing with the team April 9. 

The rematch between these two teams will be July 5 at 6 p.m. FC Cincinnati 2 next play against TFC II Sunday May 3 at 7 p.m. Red Bull New York II next play against Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday April 26 at 5 p.m.
