Jersey Shore BlueClaws vs. Aberdeen

The Jersey Shore BlueClaws played another game on Tuesday, May 6, against the Aberdeen Ironbirds.

This was a major fight between both teams, and the BlueClaws won by a final score of 7-4.

Jersey Shore took the mound at the top of the first inning with Aaron Combs getting the start on the bump for the home team. Things started without much action for both teams in the first three innings.

The Ironbirds got on the board first. Aberdeen put one run up on the board at the top of the third inning when Aron Estrada hit a triple and was able to score after Devin Saltiban made a throwing error.

However, in the bottom of the fourth, the Blueclaws brought the lumber and put four runs on the board. Pierce Bennet, Luke Davis, Kehden Hettinger, and Zach Arnold scored all four of these runs.

The Iron Birds scored again at the top of the seventh. Aneudis Mordan scored after Bryson Ware missed on a ground ball. Moments later, Estrada again followed up with another score.

In the top of the ninth, things took a turn. Aberdeen managed to tie the game up at four after Estrada hit a line drive to center field, allowing Ryan Stafford to run home.

The BlueClaws did an excellent job, for the most part, of keeping Aberdeen from scoring. No matter how hard they tried, Jersey Shore made most of the stops that needed to be made.

Neither of the teams hit many home runs throughout this game.

However, in the bottom of the ninth, Jersey Shore turned things around when Hettiger returned to the plate for the final time in the game. He hit a three-run home run to right center field, scoring himself and Carson DiMartini and Luke Davis, who had both reached base previously, setting off a celebration on the field and in the stands.

The BlueClaws will continue their six-game series against the Aberdeen Iron Birds today at 11:05 a.m.
