The Eagles traveled to Dallas to take on their division rival Cowboys for primetime football. The Cowboys entering this game played against the Raiders for Monday Night Football and won 33-16 in honor of deceased defensive end Marshawn Kneeland. The Eagles entered this game on a four-game winning streak and took down the Lions 16-9 on Sunday Night Football. These two teams faced off in the season opener where the Eagles won 24-20. These two teams have changed a lot since the start of the season and just like the first game of the season it will be a thriller.
The Cowboys started with possession on the first drive of the game and the Eagles forced a turnover on downs. Eagles took possession as Hurts found A.J Brown back to back plays for a combined 16 yards. Hurts would then connect to Saquon Barkley for 14 yards to get the first down. On 3rd-and-6 in Dallas territory Jalen Hurts fired a dime to A.J Brown for the touchdown. Jake Elliott nailed the field goal to make it a 7-0 start. The Eagles defense forced a 3 and out for the Cowboys. Dallas got called for a penalty while Philly was punting it and the Eagles got an automatic first down. The Hurts and Brown connection would connect again for a 22-yard gain. At 2nd-and-goal Hurts ran up the middle for the touchdown.
Kavonte Turpin would fumble and Zack Baun would recover it. At the end of the 2nd quarter, On 3rd-and-12 Hurts threw a 41-yard pass to Devonta Smith to get into Dallas territory. Philadelphia would do their annual tush push into as Hurts would score again. Jake Elliott made another field goal as it would be a 21-0 lead for the Eagles. The Cowboys would make a lengthy drive as Dak Prescott would throw a pick to Reed Blankenship in the goal line. The Eagles would punt away their next drive. The Cowboys started their next possession with a Prescott 48-yard bomb to Turpin. Dallas would get called on a penalty which pushed them back to the Philadelphia 28-yard line. Prescott would then find Ceedee Lamb for a 10-yard gain. Prescott would connect to Jake Ferguson for 17 yards and get to the one-yard line. On 1st-and-goal the Cowboys would get on the board as Dak found George Pickens in the endzone for the touchdown. Brandon Aubrey would make the field goal. Philadelphia would lead Dallas 21-7 entering halftime.
The Eagles would punt twice to begin the 3rd quarter and the Cowboys would punt once. Brandon Aubrey would miss a 51-yard field goal. The Eagles would have a quick 3-and-out. Prescott would find Ceedee Lamb for a 48-yard gain to be in Eagles territory. Dak found Brevyn Spann-Ford for the touchdown. Aubrey made the field goal as it would be a one possession game. Jake Elliott would try for a 56-yard field goal. In the beginning of the 4th quarter, Prescott fired a deep shot to George Pickens for 43 yards. Prescott would scramble for an eight-yard touchdown. Aubrey would make the field goal and it would be a tie game at 21 apiece.
The Eagles had possession next as Hurts would flip a pass to Saquon but Sam Williams stripped the ball and it was recovered by Keneth Murray Jr. of the Cowboys. The Cowboys would punt as Xavier Gipson found a fumble while returning the football and it was recovered by the Cowboys. Philly would get good defensive stops as they forced a turnover on downs against Dallas. The Eagles would punt away their next drive. Dallas would look to try and win the game as Prescott found Jake Fergueson for 19 yards to get into Eagles territory. Prescott found Pickens for 24 yards to get them into even better field goal position. Brandon Aubrey would nail the 42-yard field goal to give Dallas the win 24-21.
In the first half the Eagles offense looked the best it’s looked all season long but in the second half it went back to reality. The Cowboys tied their franchise record for most points coming back down from to win which is 21. Dak Prescott became the Cowboys all time passing yards leader this game passing Tony Romo. Dallas would stay at home as they face the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving. The Eagles would host the Chicago Bears at home on Black Friday. The final score was 24-20 in favor of the Cowboys.
