The Los Angeles Rams travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles Sunday. This is a divisional round rematch where the Eagles won 28-22.
In this season so far, both teams are 2-0 on the year. The Rams coming into this game have beaten the Texans 14-9 and the Titans on the road 33-19. The Eagles beat the Cowboys opening night 24-20 and the Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch 20-17. Even though these teams are both 2-0, each team has had its strengths and weaknesses.
The Rams’ defensive line and defense as a whole has been extremely impressive this season so far. The Rams are fourth in yards allowed this and tied for second in sacks as a team with eight. They also have allowed only 28 points this season. Byron Young has gotten off to a good start. He is tied for fourth currently with the most sacks on the season with three this season.
The Rams offense has been flowing as Matthew Stafford is leading the charge for the Rams. Puka Nacua is flying under the radar right now as he is one of the best receivers in the league. Nacua is fourth in receiving yards with 221 on the season right now.
The Eagles’ offense and defense have been night and day this season. The Eagles defense ranks ninth in yards allowed. The Eagles are 12th in points allowed and eighth in opponent passing yards. The Eagles however offensively have been lackluster thus far.
The Eagles have a new offensive coordinator in Kevin Patullo. Philly is 29th in passing yards and 29th in passing yards a game. They are also seventh in rushing yards as well. In points per game, they rank 16th and 17th in points scored.
These two teams have high aspirations this season. The Rams and Eagles are both Super Bowl contenders and the Rams look to take their revenge and the Eagles look to continue on their quest to repeat.
