Eagles vs. Chiefs Preview: Week 2

By Nikki Gist

Is there a new rivalry brewing?

The Eagles head to Arrowhead in a Super Bowl rematch, looking to rub more salt in Kansas City’s wound and potentially send the Chiefs into an early 0–2 spiral.

Kansas City will be without Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice, which makes stretching the field a real challenge. That leaves Hollywood Brown as their primary deep threat, but let’s be honest: that’s not a role we’ve consistently seen him excel in. Expect plenty of dink-and-dunk offense instead.

Meanwhile, the Eagles managed to beat Dallas last week even with Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown essentially no-shows. That won’t happen two weeks in a row. Look for Philly’s wideouts to see much more action, especially against a Chiefs defense that struggled mightily against the Chargers and lacks a true pass-rushing front. With a clean pocket, Jalen Hurts should be able to operate comfortably all game.

Historically, this matchup is dead even at 6–6 across 12 games. Which begs the question: are we witnessing the birth of a new rivalry?

Both teams come in off extended rest, but the Eagles simply have more firepower. Expect them to overwhelm Kansas City’s defense and leave Arrowhead with another win.

Final Prediction:

  • Eagles win and cover (-1.5)

  • O/U 45.5 → Take the under

Final Score: Eagles 27, Chiefs 17
