Fresh off a league win over reigning NWSL champion Orlando Pride, Gotham FC turns its attention back to continental competition Tuesday night when it visits Alianza Women in San Salvador for its second match of the 2025-26 CONCACAF W Champions Cup group stage. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET at Estadio Las Delicias.
The defending champions opened Group B with a 2-1 victory over CF Monterrey on Aug. 20. Bruninha put Gotham in front with a well-struck effort from outside the box, and rookie forward Khyah Harper doubled the lead midway through the first half. Monterrey pulled one back, but despite fielding a heavily rotated lineup, Gotham managed the game well to secure all three points.
Tuesday marks Gotham’s first-ever trip to El Salvador and its first meeting with Alianza, the most decorated women’s club in the country and winners of the 2025 Clausura. Alianza debuted in group play with a 7-0 defeat to the Washington Spirit at Estadio Las Delicias and will look to regroup at home against a side that has yet to lose in continental competition.
The Bats remain unbeaten in W Champions Cup play, with Tuesday set to be their eighth match in the competition. A win would give the club back-to-back victories to open group play for the first time, after earning one win and one draw through its first two matches in last year’s tournament. The Bats have scored in all but one of their continental fixtures, including three occasions in which they tallied four or more goals, and will also be chasing their fourth clean sheet in tournament history.
Following the trip to El Salvador, Gotham returns home to prepare for a crucial league clash against Angel City FC on Sunday, Sept. 7.
