In a game that saw six home runs and 33 combined runs, Garfield topped Manchester Regional 21-12 in high school softball action on April 22, 2026, at Manchester Regional High School in Haledon.

Belen Acevedo and Bri’elle Reyes led the Boilermaker offense. Acevedo went 2-3 at the plate with a double, a home run, five RBIs, and four runs, while Reyes also went 2-3 with a home run, three RBI’s, and two runs.

Garfield starting pitcher, Lianna Mendoza, struck out seven batters and earned the win for the Boilermakers.

Marjury Lorenzo led the Falcons with three RBIs, while Julie Rodriguez and Kaelynn Rodriguez each had a home run and two RBIs for Manchester Regional.

Kaelynn Rodriguez started in the circle for the Falcons and struck out 10 batters, but took the loss.

Garfield improves to 5-4 on the year and will travel to Paterson on Friday to take on College Achieve Paterson, while Manchester Regional falls to 2-7 on the season and will travel to Paterson on April 27 to face Paterson Charter.
