Livingston notched eight service aces compared to Verona’s four, and Cadence Sturt hammered down 14 kills for the Lancers as Livingston topped the Hillbillies 2-1 (25-18, 12-25, 25-15) to win the 2025 Essex County Girls Volleyball Championship.

Arya Shukla handed out 24 assists to help lead the Verona offense, while Sturt added 10 digs to lead the Lancer defense.

Samantha Heimall and Brynn Mack led the Verona offense. Heimall dished out 11 assists, and Mack put down seven kills. Mary Jane Finn had four blocks, and Mack had 10 digs to lead the Hillbilly defense.

Livingston will next host either Montclair or West Orange in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA North 1, Group 4 sectional playoffs on Nov. 5, while Verona will host Hasbrouck Heights in the first round of the North 2, Group 1 sectional playoffs on Nov. 4.
