IMAGES: Montville Survives OT Thriller Against Demarest in N1G3 Boys Basketball Quarterfinals

Chris Ferrare led a balanced Montville offense, and Eddie Camaj recorded a double-double to lead the Mustangs past Demarest in overtime, 66-58, in the 2026 NJSIAA Boys Basketball North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 Tournament quarterfinals.

Ferrare scored 21 points to pace a quadruplet of Montville players in double-digit scoring, while Camaj recorded 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double.  Ricky Beyer and David Gonzalez were the other two Mustang players who scored in double-figures, with Beyer and Gonzalez each recording 13 points.  Joey Beyer also finished with a near double-double for Montville, knocking down eight points and grabbing 12 boards.

Joel Mathew led Demarest with 21 points and was closely followed by Julian Gorenstein, who finished the game with 20 points.  Jake Schweid also finished in double-digit scoring for the Norsemen with 10 points.

With the win, Montville will travel to Tenafly on Wednesday for their North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 semifinal matchup with the Tigers.
