IMAGES: Mountain Lakes Girls Volleyball Survives N2G1 Opener Against Ridgefield

Ridgefield rallied from two sets down, but Mountain Lakes would ultimately take set five to win their 2025 NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 Girls Volleyball Tournament opening round match against the Royals 3-2 (25-13, 25-18, 19-25, 18-25, 15-8) on Nov. 4, 2025.

Abigail Dowling led the way for the Lakers with 14 kills and five service aces, while Nora Lin set up the Mountain Lakes attack with 22 assists.  Defensively, for the Lakers, Isabelle Lee, Victoriaria Norvak, and Karly Ross each had double-digit digs, with Lee’s 18 leading the way.  Bulgari Kancheva added four blocks for the Lakers.

With the win, eighth-seeded Mountain Lakes advances to the quarterfinals of the N2G1 playoffs, where they will travel travel face top-seeded Secaucus on Nov. 6.  Ridgefield’s season comes to a close with a record of 12-12.
