Point Pleasant Beach survived their 2026 Shore Conference Boys Basketball Tournament first-round game against Southern Regional, besting the Rams 86-82 in three overtimes.

Tyler Preston knocked down six threes and led three Point Beach players in double-figures scoring with 28 points.  Elijah Ives and Ryan Mahoney were the other two Garnet Gulls players to reach double-digit scoring.  Ives finished with 18 points, while Mahoney finished with 14.

Southern was led by Jake Sliwinski’s game-high 34 points.  Josh Brofman and Noah Perna also scored in double figures for the Rams.  Perna finished with 24 points while Brofman netted 12 points on four threes.

With the win, Point Beach advances to face Red Bank Catholic in the second round of the Shore Conference Tournament.
