IMAGES: Scotch Plains-Fanwood Gymnastics Downs Shorthanded Cranford

The No. 8 Scotch Plains-Fanwood gymnastics team topped a shorthanded Cranford squad 105.870-95.960 on Sept. 8, 2026, at Cranford High School.  The Cougars began the meet competing only four gymnasts, and things became even tougher for the home side when a Cranford gymnast was injured in the first rotation.

Olivia Kwiatkowski and Charlee Tabor led SPF.  Kwiatkowski took home top honors on the balance beam and floor exercise, while Tabor finished second on those events and third on the uneven bars.  Sophie Monteith and Jessica Loewenthal won the vault and bars, respectively, for the Raiders.

Maya Virata led the Cougars.  She nabbed top all-around honors and finished third on the beam for the Cougars.  Jordan Duelks had the highest individual finish of the afternoon for Cranford, finishing second on the vault.

With the win, Scotch Plains-Fanwood begins their season 1-0, while Cranford starts their year 0-1.  The Raiders continue their season next Tuesday when they host Union Catholic, while the Cougars will travel to Summit next Tuesday.
