The New Jersey Jackals have gone from the bottom of the Frontier League to the top of the standings.
With a 7-2 victory over the Ottawa Titans on Saturday, September 5, the Jackals clinched the Frontier League East Division title, securing their first division championship since 2004.
The accomplishment marks a dramatic turnaround for a franchise that finished with a Frontier League-worst 28-65 record in 2025.
One year later, the Jackals doubled their win total and reached 56 victories, completing one of the most significant turnarounds in franchise history.
New Jersey’s offense was led by designated hitter Isaac Bellony, who recorded two hits, including a home run. Center fielder DeAmez Ross, third baseman Felix Stevens and catcher Aneudis Mordan each recorded multi-hit performances.
Rayne Supple earned the victory on the mound, striking out four batters over 1 1/3 innings.
The division title caps a season-long battle with the New York Boulders for the top spot in the East Division. The two teams remained neck-and-neck for much of the season before the Jackals broke away down the stretch and secured the division crown.
New Jersey officially clinched a playoff berth August 29 with a 9-2 victory over the Sussex County Miners. Less than two weeks later, the Jackals added a division championship to their postseason resume.
The turnaround is a stark contrast from a year ago. After winning just 28 games in 2025, the Jackals have reached 56 victories in 2026 and will enter the Frontier
League playoffs as East Division champions. From worst to first.
Jackals Begin Playoffs Against Ottawa
The Jackals will begin their postseason run on the road as they head to Ottawa to face the Titans on Thursday, September 10 before hosting them on September 12. Game One is first slated for 7 p.m. as Game Two will be a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
