The Chicago Bears hosted the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

Philadelphia entered this matchup pulling off a last second win against the Tennessee Titans. Chicago lost a low scoring affair to the Vikings at home 9-3. Caleb Williams was injured that game and has been ruled out for three to four weeks. Case Keenum would get the start for the Bears over Tyson Bagent after recently being cleared from concussion protocols. from Saquon Barkley was cleared to play against the Bears after he suffered a stinger against the Titans.

Chicago had a great opening drive to begin the game against the Eagles. On 4th & 1, Case Keenum threw a 16-yard pass to Sam Roush. Keenum threw a toss pass to Luther Burden and was able to push his way into the endzone for the touchdown with help from his teammates. The Bears led 7-0 after Cairo Santos made the field goal. Philly would punt on their first possession and Chicago punted right after. On 2nd & 20, Jalen Hurts threw a short pass to Tank Bigsby as Austin Booker caused the fumble and the ball was recovered by Xavier Woods of the Bears. Keenum threw a six yard pass to Colston Loveland for the touchdown. Later, on review he was down before he reached the endzone.

Philadelphia got a great stop on the goal-line and forced a turnover on downs after a Quinyon Mitchell deflection against Burden. Saquon Barkley wore a protective collar all game; ran for 17 yards to get into Bears territory. Hurts scrambled to his right running out of bounds and got hit hard by D’Marco Jackson. There were two penalties one on Jackson and the other on Lane Johnson so it got offset. Hurts went to the tent to be evaluated for a concussion. Andy Dalton would come in for Hurts. On 3rd & goal, Dalton threw a pick to Dillon Thieneman. Santos would make a 29-yard field goal to make it a 10-0 lead for Chicago. On 2nd & 5, Hurts threw a deep ball to Devonta Smith for a 30 yard gain. Hurts and Smith would connect again for an eight yard gain to make it 1st & goal. Hurts and Philly did their classic tush push to beat the clock and get a touchdown. Jake Elliot nailed the field goal and it was halftime as the Bears led 10-7.

Philly would have a quick three and out to begin the third quarter. Santos made a 48-yard field goal to extend the lead to 13-7. The Eagles would have another three and out. In Philadelphia territory, Keenum fired a pass to Kalif Raymond for a 41-yard touchdown. Santos made the field goal and the Bears led 20-7. Both teams would punt on their next possessions. Hurts on 4th & 5 threw an interception to T.J Edwards. Chicago had a lengthy drive in the fourth quarter that resulted in Keenum taking it himself for the touchdown. The Bears had a 20 point lead after the Santos field goal. Hurts went for it on 4th & 22 and resulted in a turnover on downs. Chicago won 27-7 at home

Keenum led the way for the Bears with 247 passing yards, two touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. D’Andre Swift had 20 carries for 84 yards. Raymund had six receptions, 90 yards, and a touchdown. Burden caught a touchdown as well along with seven receptions for 61 yards.

Philly’s offense struggled throughout the game especially in the second half. Hurts threw 153 yards, one interception, and a rushing touchdown. Barkley had 15 carries for 82 yards. Smith had 6 receptions for 65 yards.

Chicago will host the New York Jets on Sunday October 4 at 1 pm. Philadelphia will host the Los Angeles Rams Sunday October 4 at 1 pm.
