Pallone Calls for Water Bead Ban
Congressman Frank Pallone has introduced legislation to ban water beads marketed to kids. Water beads are colorful, water-absorbing small balls, and could be deadly for small children if ingested. The proposal would direct the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission to enforce a ban on all water beads marketed to kids.
Trump Sister Dies
Maryanne Trump Barry, a retired federal appeals court judge and the sister of former President Donald Trump, died after a battle with cancer. She presided for six years on the U.S. District Court in New Jersey. President Ronald Reagan nominated her to serve as a U.S. District Court judge in 1983. One year after becoming an appellate court judge, she wrote a New Jersey law banning late-term abortions. Barry was 86.
Student Hit by Bullet in Drive-By
A Newark teen was injured in a drive-by shooting outside Central High School during a fire drill. The male student was taken to University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made in the shooting and police are investigating.
