Election Day

Today is election day. With no races for governor, president, or Congress, this is an “off-year” election, and turnout is expected to be low. All 120 seats in the Legislature, 40 in the state Senate and 80 in the Assembly are on the ballot, under a new legislative map.

Aldi to Cut Holiday Food Prices by 50% Through End of Year
Aldi, with 60 locations throughout New Jersey, will cut food prices up to 50% on more than 70 popular Thanksgiving food items. The sale started November 1 and is going right through the end of the year. The items include seasonal favorites like gravy, potatoes, green beans, cranberries and pumpkin pie, as well as staples such as butter and flour.
Feds Give More Money for Gateway Tunnel

New Jersey officials announced a $4.48 billion burst of transportation funding for the region. The money includes $3.8 billion for the Gateway Tunnel project between New Jersey and New York City. Senator Cory Booker said, “Thanks to this funding, we will upgrade decades-old infrastructure and help modernize our mass transit system, to the benefit of the lives of millions of commuters.” The construction project is widely supported and there is a lot of excitement for the new tunnel system.
