Bernie Sanders Visits RWJ Nurses
Senator Bernie Sanders led a senate committee hearing in front of hundreds of nurses at Rutgers University. His visit focused on the nurses strike at RWJ hospital. Around 1,700 nurses have been picketing for the past 3 months concerning pay and staffing. Hospital officials said in a statement that negotiations should be conducted at a “bargaining table – not at a press conference.”
Teacher Arrested After Students Play With His Gun
An assistant football coach and a teacher’s aide at a Burlington County high school is facing charges after kids were playing with a gun inside his car. According to the police investigation, Andrew Paden had transported some of the students to the fame and had given permission for them to be in his vehicle during the game. Paden is also accused of pressuring one of the children to lie about the incident.
Ferry Service Begins Today From South Amboy To NYC
Ferry service from South Amboy direct to New York City kicked off today. The ferries will drop passengers off downtown at Brookfield Place and midtown at West 39th Street. So far service runs during rush hour commutes only, Monday through Friday.
