Luis Muñoz Marin Elementary School in Newark had to be placed on lockdown. The decision came after a father allegedly threatened to hurt his children, who are students at the school. The man was arrested, and no injuries were reported.

Dover Township Police Chief Jonathan Delaney has filed a lawsuit, claiming Mayor James Dodd is seeking to eliminate his position. Delaney, who’s contract doesn’t expire until 2029, says he’s being retaliated against for not endorsing Dodd for mayor.

The Delbarton School recently held its 2025 Hall of Honor Reception. Two graduates – Ned Crotty and John Tonzola – and former faculty member Greg Devine were welcomed into the elite group.

The Count Basie Center for the Arts has a new Walk of Fame, and several local officials were on hand to induct the very first member – Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Monmouth County native Jon Bon Jovi.
