We’re shining a spotlight today on a critical health issue that affects millions of Americans: chronic kidney disease, or CKD. More than 35 million adults in the U.S. are living with CKD, yet nearly 90% don’t even know they have it. And for people with type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure, the risks are even higher. To help raise awareness, we’re joined this morning by two very special guests. First, Dr. Charles Vega, a primary care physician and Director of UC Irvine’s Program in Medical Education for the Latino Community. We’re also joined by Thelma, a two-time kidney transplant recipient and passionate advocate who is using her own journey to help others take charge of their health.
