Assembly Bill A4844 aims to reduce the use of fossil fuels and natural gas in homes and businesses, promoting cleaner energy sources like solar and wind. Supporters say it could lead to healthier, more affordable buildings, but critics, including Assemblyman Paul Kanitra, warn it will drive up electric bills for residents already facing a looming rate hike.
