Lung Cancer Prediction

July 14, 2026

A new study could change the way doctors approach lung cancer by identifying who may be at risk years before symptoms ever appear. Researchers have discovered a signature in proteins in the blood that may help predict lung cancer more than five years before a diagnosis. This signature could eventually allow doctors to intervene before the disease develops. Dr. Geoffrey Pelz, a thoracic surgeon at Hackensack University Medical Center, joins the show to explain what this breakthrough could mean for the future of cancer prevention.
