Broadway superstar and Kinnelon native Laura Benanti stars opposite Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence in the new R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.”

Benanti, who grew up in Kinnelon and currently lives in Essex County with her husband and their two young daughters, plays a helicopter parent along with her husband,  played by Matthew Broderick.

Together they hire a stranger off Craigslist to seduce their 19-year-old son, played by fellow Broadway star Andrew Barth Feldman, before he heads to Princeton University.  The premise fo the film came from a real Craigslist ad.

While Benanti admits that parts of the film are pretty raunchy,  she says it was a fun departure from the roles she’s typically used to playing.

“No Hard Feelings” is in theaters now.
