The U.S. Attorney’s office has rejected defense claims by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez that the political conduct at issue–in his alleged corruption case–could not be subject to criminal prosecution. Federal prosecutors urged the judge to deny a motion from Menendez to throw out the case.
