News Update: NJ Netflix Studio Awaits Approval

Commuters and advocates voiced their concerns against a proposed 15% fare increase, during a NJ Transit meeting in Newark. Residents didn’t mince words during the public meeting and told officials to vote it down. NJ Transit’s board of directors is scheduled to vote on the fare increase on April 10.

Netflix’s plans for a $903 million production studio complex at the former Fort Monmouth army base is waiting on a “reuse approval” from Governor Phil Murphy. This comes after it got a key approval from the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority board last month.

The Mountain Creek ski resort in Sussex County has announced that it plans to add an automated snowmaking system for the 2024-25 season starting in November. Resort officials say the $5 million project will cover several popular trails.

Four tickets are being auctioned off on eBay for a chance to ride on Battleship New Jersey as the famed U.S. Navy ship will make its much-anticipated dry dock journey later this month.
