By Kaitlyn Giordano

Officials say a Union City police officer who was found asleep behind of the wheel of his car in Secaucus last summer has pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence. The 35-year-old must pay fines and use an ignition interlock device for two years.

Experts with the Atmospheric and Environmental Research company says there are strong indications that a “polar vortex disruption” will be occurring soon which will impact New Jersey. The researchers say the cold weather is likely to return and could generate more snowstorms.
