Rutgers University may lay off nearly 40 adjunct professors. The faculty union says that’s because the school is currently facing a $516 million deficit since the athletics program joined the Big Ten Conference.

A historic sign that was stolen from a boat ramp in Pennsville last year has been recovered by police. The sign will be returned to its location at Dartmouth Road and River Drive, near the Delaware River.
The Edison Township Police Department recognized crossing guard Lisa Lancia for her recent heroic actions. She knocked on the door of a nearby home, to let the residents know it was on fire. Everyone made it out safely.
