An Elizabeth man was fatally shot near Merrick Street in Jersey City. Police found 39-year-old Devon Reid in a car that crashed into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The global pharmaceutical company Bristol Myers Squibb will be laying off over 500 New Jersey employees. The layoffs start this Friday and continue until March. The company also announced nearly 300 cuts in February. Following a restoration project, the Historic Racing Stable at Thompson Park in Lincroft is now open to the public. For the first time, visitors can walk inside the 19th century structure and learn about the farm’s history. Members of the Milltown Fire Department took part in a live burn training exercise, at the Middlesex County Fire Academy. There were three separate scenarios to simulate actual calls for service.
