New Jersey State Police partnered with Ramapo College to identify a victim from a 1979 cold case. The body, determined to be that of Robert Dean Irelan, was found in the woods in Quinton Township. The investigation into his death is still ongoing.

K-9 units from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office were at Liberty State Park, to take part in an FBI Maritime Training Exercise. This included scent detection scenarios and operations on patrol boats and subway platforms.

The grey seal that got stranded on Long Beach Boulevard in Harvey Cedars in February, was released back into the ocean, after undergoing treatment at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. The agency put a tracker on it to monitor its progress.

Members of Whiting Fire Company 33 were called to Hudson Parkway to rescue five kittens that got stuck in a storm drain. All of them were brought out safely and handed over to animal control.
