Totowa Police Chief Carmen Veneziano pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and assault and battery. The 47-year-old is accused of getting into a fight with his ex at a hotel in Boston back in September. He’s been suspended without pay until the case is over.

A man who barricaded himself inside a home in Kearny – and then lit the home on fire – is charged with murder and arson. The 44-year-old allegedly killed a man with a bow and arrow, near Kearny Avenue and Johnston Avenue.

Congratulations to Dr. Jill Guzman, who was just named William Paterson University’s first-ever Chief Wellness Officer. Guzman enters the role with more than two decades dedicated to student health and wellbeing.

Company officials have announced that the Banana Republic store at the Promenade at Sagemore in Marlton will be closing in January. The shop had been there since 2001.
