The Rowan University Women’s Volleyball team has hired Casey Burford as their next head coach. Burford served as captain of the team back in 2013, and has also coached at Delaware State, Goucher College and Catholic University.

Sara Quigley, former chief of staff to New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin, has been named managing director of Stevens & Lee Public Affairs. The law firm has offices all over the east coast, including a location in Elmwood Park.

Local officials gathered as Mary Nelson was sworn in as Chief of the Jackson Township Police Department. Nelson has served with the agency for more than two decades and becomes their first-ever female chief. 

Officers with the Harvey Cedars Police Department captured a grey seal that wound up on Long Beach Boulevard. The department handed the animal over to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center for further care.
