As part of the state’s 250th anniversary celebrations, Princeton University will host a commemorative New Jersey Assembly meeting at Nassau Hall on February 5th. The building hosted the first meeting of the State Legislature in August of 1776.

Congratulations to Paramus native and Rutgers graduate Jake Thistle on his American Idol debut. The singer-songwriter received his diploma this month, and will now showcase his talents on Season 24.

Tonight at Prudential Center, New Jersey Devils great John MacLean will become the fourth person inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor. He joins John McMullen, Sergei Brylin and Jacques Lemaire. The ceremony takes place prior to the game.

A feel-good story out of Monmouth County: two deputies helped an elderly woman shovel her property, when the person who was supposed to do it never arrived. The officers stepped in after they saw her trying to do it herself.
