According to reports, at least 29 New Jersey residents died during the extreme heat wave late last week. Meanwhile, Govenor Mikie Sherrill says the weekend storms caused winds up to 80 miles an hour, flooding, and initially left more than 300,000 customers without power.
And, in addition to utility workers, New Jersey Tranist is trying to keep up with damage repair. Trees have fallen on tracks and knocked down power lines, causing all sorts of delays for commuters.
The roof of BJ’S Wholesale Club on Route 35 in Ocean Township partially collapsed following the heavy rain over the weekend. According to officials, 27 people were in the store at the time of the incidient. No injuries were reported.
Congratulations to future Hall-of-Famer and Cumberland County native Mike Trout, who was just selected to the All-Star team for the twelfth time in his career. The game is being played at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia next Tuesday.
