Officials are investigating a drive-by shooting in Nutley. It happened on Passaic Avenue, between Conover and Hancox avenues. Police say this was an isolated incident and that there’s no threat to the public.

Three people are dead following recent thunderstorms. Two men were killed in Plainfield when a tree fell on the car they were in. A female driver was also fatally struck by a tree, after she pulled her car to the side of the road in North Plainfield.

Officer Mike Cappello of the Point Pleasant Police Department recently received the 2024 MADD Award, for his efforts in keeping drunk drivers off the road.

A tow truck driver was fatally struck by an SUV, while helping a stranded driver on Interstate 287 in Harding Township. 24-year-old Daniel Ortiz died at the hospital.
