Four-time Stanley Cup Champion Claude Lemieux, has died at the age of 60. Lemieux spent six seasons with the Devils, and in 1995, he won the Conn Smythe Trophy, given to the most valuable player during the postseason. His brain has been donated for CTE research.

Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen unveiled its new wall of records. The new fixture is named after Brother Aldric Smith, who started the school’s swim program and served as principal from 1966-1972.

Members of the Portuguese community gathered at City Hall in Newark as their country’s flag was raised. Newark Native Albert Coutinho, who died in a car crash earlier this year, was honored during the ceremony. He was the first Portuguese-American to serve in the State Legislature.

Kean University held its second annual Rep Your Ride car show on campus. The family-friendly event gave spectators a chance to enjoy all the different rides while embracing unity.
