The Jackson Police Department has announced the passing of former Sergeant Kevin Low. Following a stint in the United States Army, Low was hired by the department in 1975 and would work there for the next 25 years.

As Six Flags continues to work on its new purple rollercoaster, the park has teamed up with Project Purple to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer through fundraising and other initiatives. The partnership will go on until June 1st of next year.

Over the weekend, a wall mural was dedicated at Woodbridge train station. The artwork honors township residents who helped rescue victims from The Broker, a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train that crashed in February of 1951.

Congratulations to the Seton Hall Prep baseball team. The Pirates defeated Nutley 6-nothing, winning their third consecutive Greater Newark Tournament Championship. JJ Drennan led the way with 11 strikeouts.
