A 24-year-old Linden man and a 17-year-old were arrested for stealing a car in Fairfield. Officers located the vehicle on Phillip Drive; they caught the suspects following a chase that ended near Fairfield Road.

Following a four-day trial, a Newark man was found guilty of sexually abusing three kids over an eight-year span. 42-year-old Terrence Mells is scheduled to be sentenced in February.

Retired Lieutenant Mike Pastirko and Retired Detective Josh Thompson of the Bridgeton Police Department were honored at a recent council meeting. They received shadow boxes of their awards through the years, as well as a framed resolution.
