An Upper Saddle River man was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, for trying to help smuggle military weapons into Russia. The 43-year-old, who pleaded guilty last year, will also have to pay a penalty of over $75,000.

A man who was golfing at Pinch Brook Golf Course in Florham Park was struck by lightning. The 36-year-old went into cardiac arrest and was taken to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He’s the second person to get hit by lightning on a New Jersey golf course this summer.

West New York Police Officer David Martinez has passed away. Martinez, who served the community for 25 years, was just weeks away from his retirement.

Congratulations to Washington Township PBA Local 318 members Officer Joe Russo and Sergeant Kevin Convery. They two captured the championship at the 8th Annual Law Enforcement Open in Sussex County. They’ve now won the event three times.
