Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love was honored during the annual Women’s Luncheon at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood. The award was presented by last year’s honoree, Gloria Gaynor.
Summit High School’s Alexis Mollin and Connor Moon were recognized as Union County Scholars. Mollin is attending Haverford College in the fall, while Moon will be pursuing Chemical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced it’s first Design-Build project, which includes replacing the Route 50 Bridge over Cedar Swamp Creek in Upper Township. The design-build format streamlines the process by putting design and construction into a single contract. The work will begin in the fall and is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
AARP New Jersey was at the State House in Trenton. Members spoke with lawmakers about property tax relief for senior residents.
