While HIV may not be in the headlines as often as it once was, it remains a serious public health issue in many communities, including here in Newark. Access to testing, prevention, and treatment can make a life-saving difference, but not everyone is able to easily reach those services.
That’s why Saint Michael’s Medical Center is bringing healthcare directly into the community with a new mobile medical unit designed to provide HIV testing, prevention, and support where people live and work.
Joining us now to talk about this initiative are Dr. Alan Sickles, CEO of Saint Michael’s Medical Center, and Dr. Jihad Slim, an infectious disease specialist at the hospital.
