Paterson Native and Singer Wé Ani Chats with ONNJ about Performing with Monica at NJPAC

By On NJ

Singer and artist Wé Ani is no stranger to performing on big stages.

The Paterson native, who now calls Harlem home, started singing at the age of 12 and has starred on two of the biggest singing competitions on television- “The Voice” and was a top 5 finalist on last season’s “American Idol.”

She’s now back in New Jersey gearing up to perform as the opening act for singer Monica at NJPAC this Sunday, October 1st, and will be performing her new EP “Frantic” for the first time in front of an audience.

Wé Ani says New Jersey is always part of her, and has even inspired some of her music.

In addition to her music and performing, Wé Ani consistently gives back to her community, and has also penned two books, including “The Little Girl with a Big Voice.” Her books have been embraced by schools across America.

While she says the journey hasn’t always been easy,  her talent, passion, and determination shows- where there’s a will… there’s a Wé.
