A new study from Rutgers Health is taking a closer look at why many patients continue using popular weight-loss medications even when they experience uncomfortable side effects. Researchers found that people who believe the drug is working, whether through weight loss, reduced appetite, or fewer cravings, are far more likely to stick with treatment despite issues like nausea.
Joining us this morning to break down the findings is lead author Abanoub J. Armanious, a researcher and graduate student at the Rutgers School of Public Health. The study was published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research and explores how patient experiences shared online can offer new insight into real-world treatment decisions.
