Kate Duggan and Paul Shackford of Family Promise of Bergen County discuss how their organization supports families facing housing instability and food insecurity. In honor of Black History Month, Lisa sits down with Carole Rogers, founder of SparkNJ, an organization created to close the funding gap for Black-led nonprofits across New Jersey. Then, Jeff and Karen Friedman of Livingston Philanthropies, Inc., a grassroots, all-volunteer organization now entering its fifteenth season of providing food, clothing, and essential resources to families living below the poverty line in Newark and surrounding communities.
