On Thursday, November 20, the New Jersey Devils will continue their road trip with another stop in Florida to face off against the Florida Panthers. The game will take place at the Amerant Bank Arena, and puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.
The Devils recently fell extremely short to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, November 18, losing 5-1. Devils Captain Nico Hischier was the only goal scorer that evening.

The team acquired 32 shots on goal, while the Lightning had 29 shots. This game was rough for New Jersey, an unexpected loss as the team had an incredible shootout over the Washington Capitals on Saturday, November 15th. Devils Defenseman Simon Nemec had won the game in the shootout, and the team won 3-2.

Devils goaltender Jacob Markstrom had returned from a lower-body injury and has been slowly getting back into the groove. Markstrom has only played nine games of the season so far, winning five games. Goaltender Jake Allen has been the constant backbone to the Devils’ success, playing 10 games and obtaining seven wins. His current save percentage for the 2025-2026 season has been .916.
Devils forward Jack Hughes remains out due to a non-hockey hand-related injury. An unfortunate loss to the Devils’ offensive core. He currently still leads the team with points at 20. Forwards Jesper Bratt and Dawson Mercer are a few points behind him. Hughes has scored 10 goals throughout the 17 games he has played in his seventh NHL career season. Mercer has a team second-best nine goals. Bratt leads the team in assists with 13. Surely, the PB&J pair is being missed (Jack Hughes and Bratt).
Players to watch for the Devils against the Panthers will be Nemec, Bratt, and forward Arseny Gritsyuk. Bratt has been great with the assists, and throughout shootouts, Nemec has been the key slapshot scorer, where he has been relied on the most, and Gritsyuk will score when you least expect it. There has been phenomenal improvement to the Devils’ offense, and the efforts are truly there and are exhilarating. Despite the multiple injuries the team has already faced early in the season, they have yet to back down and continue to flourish.
The Florida Panthers won their last game against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday, November 17, winning 8-5. The following goals were scored by: A.J. Greer (4), two goals for Seth Jones (3), Luke Kunin (1), Evan Rodrigues (5), Anton Lundell (5), Sam Bennett (4), and Brad Marchand (13). Marchand, a former Boston Bruins player, currently leads the team with 23 points, which includes 13 goals. The Panthers’ goaltender to watch is Sergei Bobrovsky, with nine wins and a .883 save percentage.
The New Jersey Devils are currently tied with the Carolina Hurricanes for 27 points throughout the entire league, as the Colorado Avalanche takes first place. The Florida Panthers are placed at 25th with 21 points, tied with both the Philadelphia Flyers and the San Jose Sharks.
