On Tuesday, October 21st, New Jersey Devils Forward Jack Hughes picked up his third career hat trick against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hughes has consistently lit up the lamp, scoring six goals over the course of three games for the New Jersey Devils. He now has a total of 147 career goals.

The Devils were on the road for their first three games, with Jack Hughes going scoreless until Thursday, October 16th, when it all began for Hughes. Thursday, October 16th, was Home Opener night for the New Jersey Devils as the team hosted the Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers. To begin the game, Jack Hughes won the opening face-off against Evan Rodrigues, already making it a staple that his team had arrived home. Jack Hughes scored his first goal of the season that night, nearly six minutes into the start of the second. A snap shot goal with a pass from Jesper Bratt and Timo Meier to tie the game. Fans were avid from the start, but happiest with the constant effort delivered by Hughes.

The New Jersey Devils then hosted the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, October 18th, and an impressive 5-3 win set the ball high for the Devils, extending their winning streak to four games. During the second period, Jack Hughes found himself on a one-on-three against three Edmonton players, scoring his second goal of the season, with the help of Brett Pesce. In the third, Hughes scored a wrist shot goal with an assist by Jesper Bratt. Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt are a power pair; they go hand in hand with each other, the “PB&J” pair that they are victoriously known for by the fans. Hughes and Bratt constantly score within each other; you will most likely always see an assist by either one of them.
The most thrilling night for Jack Hughes occurred on October 21st as they faced the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With a 5-2 win over Toronto, Jack Hughes recorded his third career hat trick. Embarking on a memorable game for the team, Jack Hughes and former Toronto Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe. At 1:27 in the second, Hughes scored his fourth goal of the season (but first of the game) with help from Jesper Bratt and Brett Pesce. Towards the end of the second period, Jack Hughes scored his second goal of the night, and the credited assists went to Jesper Bratt and Simon Nemec. With 60 seconds remaining in the third period, Hughes went for a wrist shot and scored his third goal of the night, which resulted in his third career hat trick (assisted by Jesper Bratt). This win over the Toronto Maple Leafs has extended the New Jersey Devils winning streak to five straight games.

Not only have the New Jersey Devils been on a five-game heater, but Jack Hughes has had a tremendous last three games, truly embodying his character as a player.
