The Brooklyn Nets partnered with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) at their practice facility to help pediatric patients create custom shirts to honor the doctors working at HSS. The shirts designed by the children are to recognize and honor National Doctors Day in March.
The patients got to work on designs for the warmup t-shirts that the Brooklyn Nets will be wearing on March 1 in recognition of Kid’s Day game. Some of the Brooklyn Nets staff, including head coach Jordi Fernandez visited the patients to see what they were working on.
“I just went and visited our Pediatric patients from HSS and they were working on a great design for t-shirts, warmup t-shirts for our players to wear so it means the world to us. We’re very excited to have a chance to wear them,” said Fernandez.
The kids had a chance to visit the practice facility, speak to some of the players, and showcase their designs.

“Definitely saw some kids that showed their creativity with the designs they’re gonna put up on our warmups. Saw some great images and pictures. Honestly wouldn’t mind to wear any of them,” said Brooklyn Nets’ guard Tyrese Martin.
The event was an opportunity for the kids to express their creativity and showcase their art skills on paper, which will later be put on the warmup shirts for the Brooklyn Nets. Their art and creativity will be showcased when the Brooklyn Nets host the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 1st for the Kid’s Day game
