Gotham FC added attacking depth Thursday, acquiring forward Olivia Wingate from the North Carolina Courage in an intraleague deadline-day deal.
Wingate, who is signed through the end of the 2026 season, joins Gotham on a free transfer and will wear No. 29. She spent the first four seasons of her professional career with the Courage after being selected sixth overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft.
Wingate has made 28 regular-season appearances in the NWSL, recording two goals and five assists.
“Olivia is an energetic attacking player who brings pace, directness and a willingness to take on defenders,” Gotham president of soccer operations Yael Averbuch West said. “She has shown she can contribute at the NWSL level, and we’re excited to add her to our group.”
The 24-year-old played five seasons at Notre Dame, where she recorded 26 goals and 11 assists in 95 appearances. She earned First Team All-ACC and Third Team All-American honors following her senior season.
Wingate also helped North Carolina win the 2023 NWSL Challenge Cup during her rookie season.
“I’m incredibly excited to join Gotham FC and become part of such an ambitious club,” Wingate said. “I can’t wait to get started, meet my new teammates and staff and compete for trophies together.”
Wingate’s arrival gives Gotham additional attacking depth for the final stretch of the 2026 regular season as the club continues its push for another trophy.
