Ashley Lavrich converted a penalty kick in the 90th minute to complete a Monmouth rally as the Hawks’ women’s soccer team battled to a 2-2 tie against in-state foe Fairleigh Dickinson on Aug. 30, 2026, in West Long Branch.

Saar van der Boom also scored for Monmouth in the 65th minute, with assists coming from Maddie DeMaio and Evangeline Perdomo. Tallulah Miller made two saves in goal for the Hawks.

Marina Burzaco scored both of FDU’s goals, with assists coming from Maria Barrero and Allison Nase. Rosemarie Leblanc had five saves in goal for the Knights.

With the tie, Monmouth moves to 2-1-2 on the season while FDU moves to 0-2-2. The Hawks will next face St. John’s on Thursday in West Long Branch while the Knights will take on Fairfield in Teaneck on Wednesday.
